What's On This Weekend in Morpeth & the North East (20-22 June)

Father's Day headlines a packed weekend across the region. Whitehouse Farm is letting dads in free on Sunday, Longframlington hosts its annual funday on Saturday, and The Hoppings returns to Town Moor for its final days. Here is what is happening from Saturday to Monday.

Longframlington Funday

Saturday 20 June at Longframlington. A proper Northumberland village funday with stalls, games, and family entertainment. Longframlington is about 15 minutes north of Morpeth and makes for a lovely Saturday afternoon out in the countryside.

Dads Go Free -- Whitehouse Farm

Sunday 21 June (Father's Day) at Whitehouse Farm. Treat dad to a day on the farm without paying for his ticket. Whitehouse Farm is just a few minutes from Morpeth and has animals, outdoor play, soft play, and a cafe. A great way to spend Father's Day without breaking the bank.

The Hoppings 2026

Running until Sunday 28 June on Town Moor, Newcastle. Europe's largest travelling funfair is in full swing on Newcastle's Town Moor. Over 300 rides and attractions, from white-knuckle thrill rides to hook-a-duck. Around 30 minutes from Morpeth by car, or take the train to South Gosforth and walk across the Moor.

Blyth Live 2026

Saturday 20 June at Blyth. A free outdoor music festival on the Blyth coast with live bands, food stalls, and a proper seaside atmosphere. Blyth is about 20 minutes east of Morpeth and well worth the trip for a day of live music by the sea.

Morris Car Rally -- Beamish

Saturday 20 June at Beamish Museum. Classic Morris cars gather at the open-air museum for their annual rally. Browse the vehicles, explore the museum, and enjoy a day that combines motoring heritage with Beamish's 1900s and 1940s streets.

Alnmouth Arts Festival

From Saturday 20 June at Alnmouth. The coastal village of Alnmouth opens its doors for a weekend arts festival with exhibitions, open studios, and workshops. A beautiful setting on the Northumberland coast, about 30 minutes from Morpeth.

Yesterbus Classic Rally -- Locomotion

Sunday 21 June at Locomotion, Shildon. Vintage buses descend on the National Railway Museum at Shildon for the Yesterbus Classic Rally. A treat for transport enthusiasts of all ages, with heritage vehicles on display and demonstration rides.

Operation Mincemeat -- Theatre Royal

Monday 22 June at the Theatre Royal, Newcastle. The Olivier Award-winning musical tells the extraordinary true story of the Second World War deception that changed the course of the conflict. A brilliant night out at one of the finest theatres in the North East.
