About King Edward VI School

The King Edward VI School is a large comprehensive secondary school for students aged 13 to 18 on Cottingwood Lane, Morpeth, serving over 1,400 pupils including a sixth form of around 450 students. Part of the Cheviot Learning Trust, it describes itself as a fully inclusive and truly comprehensive school built on traditional principles and high standards, with a reputation for academic excellence. At its November 2024 Ofsted inspection the school was rated Good for quality of education, behaviour and attitudes, and leadership and management, and Outstanding for both personal development and sixth-form provision. It is one of Northumberland's largest and best-regarded secondary schools.
