Morpeth Farmers' Market

Monthly farmers' market in Morpeth Market Place on the first Saturday of every month, with local meat, bread, cheese, preserves, street food and crafts. Morpeth's traditional general market runs in the same square every Wednesday.

About Morpeth Farmers' Market

Morpeth Farmers' Market fills the Market Place in the centre of town on the first Saturday of every month, from 9am to 3pm, with producers from Northumberland and the wider North East. Stalls typically cover locally reared meat and game, sourdough and baking, cheese, preserves and honey, fish from the coast, plants and flowers, hot street food and a few craft stalls, and the line-up rotates from month to month. The market is managed alongside Sanderson Arcade, which publishes the year's dates; in 2026 the final market of the year falls on Saturday 5 December.

The Market Place has hosted trading since Morpeth's market charter of 1199, and the town's traditional general market still runs there every Wednesday, with clothing, household goods, plants and some food. The square sits beside the Town Hall and the Clock Tower, a short walk from Bridge Street and Sanderson Arcade, so a market visit fits easily into a wider trip into town. Entry is free and no booking is needed.
