About This Event

The Border Readers bring a live audio evening to Morpeth Library, with professional actors reading four contemporary short stories on the theme of love. The programme includes Penelope Lively's comic tale of married life The Row, Jeremy Page's break-up story Plastic Heart, and Kerry Andrew's To Belong To, shortlisted for the 2018 BBC National Short Story Award. Also featured is Taking Flight by Helen Hutchinson, new writing for the National Year of Reading set in rural Victorian Perthshire, where a library shapes the fate of would-be lovers. The evening runs for about 1 hour 50 minutes including an interval and is suitable for ages 11 and up.
