About 4th Morpeth Scout Group

4th Morpeth Scout Group is a large and long-established group in the Castle Morpeth District of Northumberland Scouts, with more than 250 young members. It runs a full range of sections, a Squirrel drey (ages four to six), several Beaver colonies (six to eight), Cub packs (eight to ten and a half) and Scout troops (ten and a half to fourteen), giving children across Morpeth and Pegswood a weekly programme of games, badges, crafts, camps and outdoor adventure. The group has its own headquarters on Staithes Lane and also meets at Pegswood, where it runs a nautically themed Sea Scout troop.

Like most groups, its sections fill quickly and some carry waiting lists, so families are encouraged to register early rather than wait until a child is exactly the right age. The group is entirely volunteer-led and, as with all Scouting, it is the supply of adult leaders and helpers that most often decides how many children it can take. New members and volunteers are always welcome; you can get in touch on 01670 515785 or by email to join@4thmorpeth.org.uk.
