About Morpeth Town AFC

Morpeth Town AFC, nicknamed the Highwaymen, are the senior football club at the heart of the town's game. Founded in 1909, the club plays at Craik Park off Highford Lane, a ground with a capacity of around 2,100 that was fitted with an artificial pitch in 2021. The club's proudest moment came in May 2016, when they beat Hereford 4-1 at Wembley Stadium to lift the FA Vase, one of the great days in the club's long history and a source of enormous local pride.

For the current season Morpeth Town compete in the Northern Premier League, at Step 4 of the non-league pyramid, against regional rivals such as Ashington, Consett and Dunston. Home matches at Craik Park are inexpensive by the standards of the professional game and offer a genuinely welcoming, community atmosphere, with a clubhouse and refreshments on match days.
