Howard Shore's sweeping, Oscar-winning scores for The Lord of the Rings come to life in the extraordinary setting of Newcastle Cathedral. The Mystery Ensemble performs the trilogy's most beloved themes — from the Shire to the fall of Sauron — by candlelight beneath the cathedral's soaring vaults. Two sittings are offered on the day, at 4:45pm and 7:30pm. Tickets are £25-£40 and available via the cathedral's website.
